Fundraiser for Capitol City Opera Company

Last night I sang at a fundraiser for Capitol City Opera Company at the Teaching Museum South. It was music of the 20's. I sang "Bewitched" by Rogers and Hart, "Always" by Irving Berlin, and "Just One of Those Things" by Cole Porter. The audience loved it and asked for an encore, so we quickly thought to sing "God Bless America" by Irving Berlin. It's always a thrill to sing for such an appreciative audience.

Classical Duet Recital

I am also working with Chalis Pomeroy, Mezzo Soprano, on a classical duet recital. It is all in English and we are looking to have it ready by September.

The Reminiscents

I am so excited about getting started with The Reminiscents, a girls' trio covering songs of the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Shauna, Donna, and Lana are getting together our press kit this week and will hopefully be ready to start booking gigs within a few weeks. Check us out at www.thereminiscents.com

Where to find Amber Brooke this week

This week I will be practicing for and performing at Dinner and a Diva. This is a monthly themed concert series which takes place at a local restaurant. This month, July, is French opera. I will be singing The Bell Song and The Flower Duet from Lakme and The Doll Song from Tales of Hoffman. I love to sing from Lakme because I have a costume to wear and, let's face it, who doesn't secretly like to dress up and hit high F's!
